Anxiety and fear can cause a person to have significant impairment at work, at school, at a grocery store, or home. Anxiety disorders are a variety of mental disorders that cause a person to feel worried and have a sense of losing control. What once seemed like a feeling of ‘I’ve got this’ turns into ‘I am fearful of losing it. Do you have feelings of fear and worry that seem to grip you with no end in sight? If this sounds like you, then you are not alone. Anxiety disorder is a genuine issue that many people like yourself have dealt with.

Wiki

Anxiety can cause both physical and cognitive symptoms, including restlessness, irritability, feelings of fatigue, concentration issues, and chest pain, among other symptoms. When one suffers from these conditions, it may be challenging to determine what is happening. Clinically speaking, fear is different from Anxiety. It is a reaction to a perceived threat from an emotional and physiological standpoint. On the other hand, anxiety disorder includes fears (phobias) or events that trigger reactions such as panic attacks.

Anxiety and fear can be and have been successfully treated through cognitive behavioral therapy and mindfulness-based programs. Both of these techniques are effective in different ways. Cognitive Behavioral therapy can reduce Anxiety and fear by improving coping skills and one’s thoughts and attitudes toward a stressor. The person dealing with Anxiety will be empowered to modify their thought process toward a situation that once caused severe worry, doubt, and a sense of hopelessness. Stressors will inevitably occur, but how one deals with them can improve and bring a sense of control.

Mindfulness therapy is a therapeutic technique that helps the client become more attuned to their feelings, emotions, and situations that causes fear and Anxiety. Think of Mindfulness as pausing, breathing, observing one’s thoughts and feelings, then proceeding with supportive techniques to deal with the stressor. For example: If one is about to engage in an argument that leads to harsh words and foul language, one can begin to fear that things will spin out of control again. Have you experienced that anticipation of things getting heated and felt like you could not control the situation? Have you anticipated being in a closed space and there was no way to get out of it?

One can slow things down and bring a sense of control to the situation through cognitive behavioral therapy and mindfulness techniques. As a result, the client becomes more engaged in thought and how to handle a potential argument constructively instead of allowing it to escalate. Whereas anticipation of losing control was the norm in the past such feelings contributing to Anxiety and fear can be lessened through awareness and changes. In addition, there can be a sense of calmness and control, whereas one used to feel that there was an escape from the feelings of being trapped and unable to gain control. Issues will arise, my friend; however, how we deal with them can be modified for a positive result that is empowering and satisfying.
